At Waterloo, whether you’re a beginner or an expert, our two athletic facilities have something for you.

Being active is a great way to make new friends, get involved, and enjoy yourself. You'll have free access to our two main athletic facilities as well as gyms and recreational spaces in some residences. Between intramurals, fitness classes, varsity athletics, and more, you’re bound to find something you’ll enjoy.

Recreational programs

Warrior Recreation offers many ways for you to stay active as part of a healthy lifestyle. As one of Canada's most diverse campus recreation programs, Waterloo provides approximately 250 programs at a variety of levels. Stay fit with

  • aquatics, skating, and racquet sports;
  • 2,500 fitness and wellness classes, including power yoga, cycling, Pilates, barre, and spin classes;
  • dance and martial arts; and
  • intramurals and tournaments.

Physical Activities Complex

The recently expanded Physical Activities Complex includes full-size gyms, a pool, squash courts, climbing and bouldering walls, a new fitness centre and studio, a golf simulator, and a high performance training zone featuring free weights, cardio equipment, and more.

Field house

Columbia Field House and Icefield Facility

The Columbia Icefield Facility provides three gyms, fitness studio, hockey and skating arena, ball diamond, disc golf course, three beach volleyball courts, five playing fields, a fitness centre, and is home to Warrior Field.

The CIF Field House features 65,000 square foot of indoor multi-activity turf space.
