Sports clubs
Looking for more ways to get involved? There are nearly 30 athletic clubs, ranging from archery and dragon boat to Quidditch and Ultimate.
Esports

Level up your gaming skills by joining Waterloo's Esports community! Participate in casual events or competitive tournaments and play your favourite video games while connecting with other students.
On-campus activities

There are countless other events on campus, such as
- Orientation, Welcome Week, and other events run by WUSA and student societies;
- sports teams you can join or cheer on;
- concerts by our campus choirs, a cappella groups, and orchestra;
- TEDxUW;
- Velocity Fund Finals which showcases student startups each term;
- Hack the North, Canada's largest hackathon with 1,000 students from around the world;
- International Education Week, and more!
Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association
Run by students for students. As a Waterloo student, you'll automatically be a member of the Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association, allowing you to influence the university experience for thousands by running for election as WUSA president, vice-president, or a member of the Board of Directors.
WUSA services include
- student health and dental plan,
- low-cost bus service to Toronto and London,
- legal protection service,
- transit pass for Grand River Transit,
- peer-to-peer counselling,
- student advocacy,
- resources for sexual and gender diversity, and
- 24/7 convenience store.
Student societies
By hosting fun events and delivering services like exam study support and access to low-cost or free food, Waterloo's 10 student societies are a great way to connect with students in your faculty or program. Get involved by going to events, volunteering, or taking on a leadership role.
