Turkstra Lumber Arts Business Award

Award description: 

Four awards, valued at up to $5,500 each, will be provided to four full-time undergraduate students enrolling in Year One in the Faculty of Arts in Arts and Business, Accounting and Financial Management, or Global Business and Digital Arts. Selection will be based on academic achievement (minimum 80% admission average) and demonstrated financial need. To be eligible, candidates must be residents of a town at least 25 km from a Turkstra Lumber location. Locations are: Fort Erie/Ridgeway, Niagara Falls, Smithville, Dunnville, Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Waterdown, Dundas, Cambridge, Brantford, or Simcoe. Recipients will receive $2,500 in Year One, and an additional $1,000 in each of Year Two, Three and Four. Payments beyond first year are dependent on continued full-time enrolment in Arts and Business, Accounting and Financial Management, or Global Business and Digital Arts, as well as maintaining a 75% cumulative average each year. To be considered, students must complete the Entrance Bursary application by April 15. This fund is made possible by a donation from Peter and Karen Turkstra and Turkstra Lumber Company who, by their generosity, will enable deserving students to achieve their academic goals.
