University of Waterloo Entrance Bursaries

Award description: 

Entrance bursaries are awarded to assist students who have financial need. Approximately 1,000 entrance bursaries, valued at $1,000 to $5,000 each, are available for students entering first-year programs at the University of Waterloo, Renison University College, and St. Jerome's University. To be eligible for this bursary, candidates must have lived in Ontario for at least 12 months prior to beginning their post-secondary education and must be able to demonstrate a financial need during their first year of studies.

  • Complete the Entrance Bursary application.
    • You can find the application on the Awards and financial aid tab in the Waterloo application portal.
    • Access to the form is limited to Ontario students who will be studying on a full-time basis and who are applying to post-secondary studies for the first time.
    • Additional eligibility criteria can be found on the application form.
    • The Entrance Bursary application is open from February 1 to April 15.
