Farvolden Lecture Series and Symposium

The Farvolden Lecture Series, hosted by Waterloo's Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, was initiated in 1996 as an annual celebration in honour of Dr. Robert Farvolden. The Lecture Series fosters interaction and communication between the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, the alumni of the hydrogeology program and the groundwater community at large.

This year Cathy Ryan, a professor in Geoscience at the University of Calgary who had the privilege of being supervised by Robert Farvolden, will present the 2017 Farvolden Lecture, "Groundwater, Bubbles, and Energy."

The day's celebrations are divided into two parts:

Morning/Early Afternoon Activities:

9:30-10:00: Registration and Coffee (DC 1301)
10:00-11:00: Three Minute Thesis presentations (DC 1304)
11:00- 12:00: Networking with Sponsors (DC 1301)
11:30 -1:00: Light lunch (DC 1301)
1:00- 2:00: Tour of Rock Garden and Museum (participants meet at the Rock Garden)


The Farvolden Lecture Series:
