Current research projects:• Life cycle assessment of materials in mobility: LCA of lithium and other battery materials for use in electric vehicles (EV). • Product category rules (PCR) for materials (aluminum and steel) in automotive vehicle lightweighting.• LCA of bio-based materials and novel bio-products including improved life cycle assessment methods, indicators for agri-food systems, and databases on agricultural and biomass feedstocks. The overall BioNIB project includes a network of partners from farms, to materials, to manufacturing, to final uses in automotive and other sectors.• Conflict minerals and responsible sourcing in supply-chains of metals from mines to brand-name electronics. Multiple partners and disciplines converge, including business, CSR, mining and metallurgy, governance, international development and sustainability assessment.• Enterprise carbon management, especially measurement, reporting and verification of GHGs; including LCA, product carbon footprints, and business carbon strategies.
