At the University of Waterloo, we believe in developing a culture that fosters inclusivity and a sense of belonging. Every campus member works towards the University’s goal of advancing programs, policies and processes that foster equity, diversity and inclusivity. Each department is supported in their charge to create an accessible environment in everything that we do.
The responsibility of the University’s compliance with the Accessibility with Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) was transitioned to AccessAbility Services and the Associate Provost, Campus Supports and Accessibility in 2024. The Workplace Accessibility Specialist is a dedicated resource to support Waterloo in meeting its mandate and requirements under the AODA.
