David Lai

Leadership Advisor
David is currently the Barrister-at-Law Mediator at the Noble Chambers. He held many senior positions in various sectors, including Post Security International (Asia) Ltd as Managing Director, US Public Listed Company as Regional Managing Director, a Telecommunications provider as Managing Director, Extant Asia Limited as Assistant CEO, etc.
He also obtained the Bachelor of Laws and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws at The University of Hong Kong. David was the Member of the President’s Advisory Council Hong Kong Steering Committee of the Hong Kong Alumni Association. He also obtained the University of Waterloo Faculty Of Science Alumni Award in 2017.
George Chan

Leadership Advisor
George is currently the CEO of Capital Focus Asset Management Ltd. He obtained a BMath in Combinatorics Optimization H in 1977. He has worked in a variety of senior and director roles throughout his career in banking and finances in Hong Kong. George was a pervious president of the Hong Kong Alumni Association and has been an active alumnus since graduating.
John Haddock

John is a recent retiree. He has provided local, provincial, national and international leadership within the YMCA movement both as the past CEO of the Kitchener and Cambridge YMCA’s for over 30 years. In retirement John continues to be very engaged in several local and global community development organizations as a volunteer.
Michael Leung

Michael is the Chapter Lead of the Hong Kong Alumni Chapter. He is a practicing barrister with expertise in general civil litigation, human rights and public law, regulatory advisory, and arbitration.
Extremely grateful for what Waterloo has provided him, Michael is passionate about connecting alumnus to build a strong and united Waterloo network in Hong Kong.
Howard Chan

Howard is currently a solicitor in private practice at Fangda Partners. Howard obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo in 2000, and initially entered the IT security industry as a System Consultant, before reading law and entering the legal industry over 10 years ago.
Mei Ng

Vice-President Engagement
Mei currently holds the position Innovations Project Manager at Shell and has been in this position for 4 years. Mei has worked with Shell since 1994.
Mei obtained a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo in 1994. She has since completed her Master’s Degree in Managerial Psychology at HELP University. She played a large role in the successful 60th Anniversary event in 2017 and was the lead of the publishing team which produced the award winning program booklet.
Billy Chung

Billy currently holds the position General Manager – APAC at GoAnimate, Inc. He has been in this position for 2 years. He is an experienced general manager with a demonstrated history of working in the creative industry. He is skilled in Operations Management, Strategic Partnership, Business Intelligence, Accounting/Finance, and Sales Management.
Billy obtained a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Waterloo in 1999. He has also obtained a Diploma in Investigative and Forensic Accounting from the University of Toronto, a Certificate in Business Analytics for Practitioners from Northwestern University, and an M.B.A., Financial Management from the University of Toronto – Rotman School of Management.
Eric (Man Ho) Lee

Eric currently holds the position Head of Central Purchasing at Hang Lung Properties. He has been in this position since November 2018. Eric has 24 years of Purchasing and Sourcing experience in various industries including manufacturing, resort, transportation and education. Eric obtained a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo in 1994. He also has a M.B.A from the City University of Hong Kong, and a Graduate Diploma in Laws and LL.B from The Manchester Metropolitan University.
Philip Lam

Vice-President Partnerships
Philip obtained a Bachelor of Mathematics, Computer Science from Waterloo in 1996. The solid foundation of information technology he established from Waterloo’s study enabled him to further pursue his master and PhD research interests of RFID security frameworks. His schoolmates in Waterloo also became his business partners and together they founded an IT company in 1996 that focuses in supply chain e-commerce platforms. He is now in the electric car industry as the Chief Operating Officer at CAIA Motors, he also teaches in universities, and is a consultant for various departments of the Hong Kong government and businesses.
