Established in 2019, the Toronto Alumni Chapter offers a unique opportunity for alumni programing and connecting with students. This chapter represents our largest concentration of alumni in a region. The group is looking forward to connecting with as many alumni as possible!

Bob Hunter

Bob Hunter

Leadership Advisor

Robert (Bob) is currently a Special Projects Advisor for Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. He has spent his entire career marketing and managing some of Canada’s premier sports and entertainment facilities, but the majority have been working in Toronto.


Joanna Kervin
BASc ‘86
Leadership Advisor

Joanna is the 3rd Party Technical Director at Crosslinx Transit Solutions. She has spent more than 30 years building her management and technical expertise, working in both the private and public sectors in and around the GTA.


Vikas Gupta 
BSc ’91

Alumni Council Representative

Vikas is the charismatic leader and CEO at AVARA Media. a who defines himself as a seasoned executive with an entrepreneurial DNA. 

He enjoys venturing beyond his own industry and is an advisor, mentor, investor, board member to many organizations in and beyond Toronto. 



Anne-Marie Marais
BES ’95


Is the Co-Lead of the Toronto Alumni Chapter and is a graduate of the School of Planning in the Faculty of Environment. She runs her own Digital Media company, Long Legs Media, in Toronto and is a strong advocate for University of Waterloo Alumni relations and supporting past and future alumni.


Rohit Ramchandani
BSc ‘04


Is the Co-Lead of the Toronto Alumni Chapter. As Founder & CEO of Antara Global Health Advisors and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Global Health Innovation at UWaterloo. As a student leader, turned mentor he is a passionate alumnus who is looking forward to continue to help build connections for alumni and students in Toronto.  


Crystal Cole
BA ’91

Chapter Executive Member 

Is a project management consultant and program manager of international rail transit and construction infrastructure mega-projects. She is interested in helping alumni connect and build the reputation of the university.



Don Tu
BASc ’17

Chapter Executive Member 

Is a Chemical EIT on the Pyrometallurgy Team at Hatch. He is passionate about connecting people across disciplines and helping to build a network of Waterloo alumni in Toronto.


Jos Alas
BSc ’14

Chapter Executive Member 

Is a clinical research professional by trade who is keen on making meaningful and stimulating connections with others. After living in several cities in Canada and abroad, he is eager to leverage his multi-local identity to encourage the Waterloo community in Toronto to bolster a sense of belonging.


Elizabeth Wong
BES ’11

Chapter Executive Member

After graduating she worked at the University of Waterloo before her current role as a customer experience and operations specialist at Bullfrog Power. She is a proud alumnus and is excited to share all the great things UWaterloo has done and continues to do.
