It
seems
like
I
just
started
my
co-op
term
with
Alumni
Relations,
and
already,
it's
over.
The
time
has
absolutely
flown
by
-
I
could
have
sworn
that
yesterday
was
September.
It
seems
that
every
term
moves
faster
as
I
get
closer
and
closer
to
graduation.
So
here
are
my
memoirs,
I
suppose:
a
term
in
review
of
Alumni
Relations.
Coming
into
this
office,
I
didn't
really
know
what
I
was
getting
into.
I
mean,
I
knew
what
the
job
description
was,
I
had
met
my
direct
supervisors
in
my
interview,
and
they
told
me
about
the
office.
But
I
didn't
know
exactly
what
or
how
much
the
office
did
for
our
thousands
of
alumni.
In
the
short
time
I've
been
here,
I've
supported
five
events
in
different
corners
of
the
globe
–
Reunion
and
Convocation
here
at
UWaterloo,
and
Alumni
Chapter
events
in
San
Francisco,
Shanghai,
and
Jakarta.
I
didn't
even
know
that
the
University
HAD
chapters,
let
alone
supported
events
for
them,
but
do
we
ever!
I
should
add,
those
were
only
events
that
I
was
directly
involved
in.
Many
other
events
and
projects
were
going
on
at
the
exact
same
time.
And
then
there
was
the
big
one.
Well,
at
least,
my
personal
big
one.
With
the
help
of
the
wonderful
Patricia
Duguay,
I
was
put
in
charge
of
reviving
an
event
that
has
been
on
hiatus
for
a
few
years.
It
was
my
task
and
privilege
to
plan
an
evening
for
alumni
and
their
high
school
aged
loved
ones
to
learn
about
the
university
applications
process,
be
it
at
Waterloo
or
elsewhere
(but
let's
be
honest,
we're
all
hoping
for
Waterloo.)
This
event
went
off
on
November
26,
and
was
a
great
success
–
so,
thank
you
to
all
who
came
out!
I
hope
it
was
as
enjoyable
to
all
those
who
attended
as
it
was
for
me
to
plan.
The
opportunities
that
I've
had
as
Alumni
Program
Assistant
have
been
bountiful,
to
say
the
least.
I've
been
involved
in
communications,
event
planning
and
support,
and
much,
much
more.
I've
learned
more
here
(and
had
more
fun)
than
I
ever
imagined.
I
now
know
that
I'll
be
in
VERY
capable
hands
when
I
join
the
Alumni
Club!
