Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty has named George Ross (BES '82, Environmental Studies) as Deputy Minister of Northern Development and Mines, and Scott Thompson (BES '82, Urban & Regional Planning) as Deputy Minister, Policy and Delivery, Cabinet Office.

David Saunders (BES '02, Geography) will start as the new director of public infrastructure for Huntsville, Ontario, on January 16, 2012.

Currently an associate editor for MIS Quarterly, Ron Thompson (BMath '80) will take on senior editor duties for a three-year term starting in January. He is also on the editorial board of the Journal of AIS, and co-authored the textbook Information Technology and Management.
