Bill Watson (BA '76)

Bill Watson is a lawyer and partner at the Toronto-based international law firm Baker and McKenzie LLP. His legal practice focuses on labour relations and complex-issue negotiations. One of his career highlights was working as the multi-provincial and territorial negotiator when he negotiated the first Canadian compensation package for the HIV-tainted blood products recipients.

Watson (BA '76) has been a generous donor to St. Paul's United College, and given of his time as a fundraising chair for the school. He is also a member of the University of Waterloo Alumni Council and has been the manager and coach of the St. Paul's College alumni slo-pitch team. "We never win, and we're never competitive," he says "but we have a great deal of fun trying."

His work on the alumni council has been especially gratifying. "Both the university and the college community have provided me with multifarious benefits," he says, "including a great education and a wonderful group of lifelong friends and colleagues."
