The purpose of the Co-operative and Experiential Education Council (CEEC) is to advance co-operative education and work-integrated learning at Waterloo through advocacy, communication, partnerships and sharing of good practice.
1. MANDATE
- Provide insights, feedback and guidance to CEE staff based on engagement with members’ constituency (i.e., faculty, student group, etc.) and awareness of best practices.
- Foster communications between CEE and constituent groups.
- Highlight opportunities and support needed to enhance CEE programs.
- Advocate for programs within the Co-operative and Experiential Education (CEE) unit.
- Provide oversight for centralized co-operative and experiential education curricula and courses.
2. MEMBERSHIP
- Faculties: 1 member per Faculty who can speak to co-op and work-integrated learning at the undergraduate and graduate levels (for example Associate Dean, Co-op; Associate Dean, Work-Integrated Learning)
- Students: 4 students representing WUSA, GSA and student associations
- CEE: Members of the CEE Leadership team
- Chair: Associate Provost, CEE
- Administrative Support: CEE, Executive Assistant
3. ARRANGEMENTS
- Chair of the Council to be Associate Provost, Co-operative and Experiential Education.
- Council to meet twice per year, once in the fall and once in the winter terms.
- Standard agenda will include reports from faculties, reports from students and reports from CEE units, other business as required.
- New members will be offered an onboarding onto the council that provides an overview of quality co-op and WIL and an overview of the CEE portfolio.
