Co-operative and Experiential Education Council (CEEC)

The purpose of the Co-operative and Experiential Education Council (CEEC) is to advance co-operative education and work-integrated learning at Waterloo through advocacy, communication, partnerships and sharing of good practice.


  1. Provide insights, feedback and guidance to CEE staff based on engagement with members’ constituency (i.e., faculty, student group, etc.) and awareness of best practices.
  2. Foster communications between CEE and constituent groups.
  3. Highlight opportunities and support needed to enhance CEE programs.
  4. Advocate for programs within the Co-operative and Experiential Education (CEE) unit.
  5. Provide oversight for centralized co-operative and experiential education curricula and courses.


  1. Faculties: 1 member per Faculty who can speak to co-op and work-integrated learning at the undergraduate and graduate levels (for example Associate Dean, Co-op; Associate Dean, Work-Integrated Learning)
  2. Students: 4 students representing WUSA, GSA and student associations
  3. CEE: Members of the CEE Leadership team
  4. Chair: Associate Provost, CEE
  5. Administrative Support: CEE, Executive Assistant


  1. Chair of the Council to be Associate Provost, Co-operative and Experiential Education.
  2. Council to meet twice per year, once in the fall and once in the winter terms.
  3. Standard agenda will include reports from faculties, reports from students and reports from CEE units, other business as required.
  4. New members will be offered an onboarding onto the council that provides an overview of quality co-op and WIL and an overview of the CEE portfolio.
