University of Waterloo recognized as an innovator in aviation training and research

The University of Waterloo has been recognized by the Kitchener Times as a place for innovation in aviation training and research.

The Faculty of Environment and the Faculty of Science offer degree programs in Geography and Aviation and in Science and Aviation for students who simultaneously train for their commercial pilot's license at the Waterloo-Wellington Flight Centre. Research into aviation human factors and sustainable aviation is led by Professor Suzanne Kearns who explores human limitations and how they contribute to aviation accidents and incidents. This vibrant program is one of a very few that combine academic and aviation training.
