Supporting co-op students: new embedded wellness counsellors

Co-op students can sometimes face unique stress, pressures and feelings of isolation on work term (or during their recruiting term). To support these students, two new mental health staff from Campus Wellness will be available.  

These counsellors understand the co-op program at Waterloo and are another great resource available to help resolve challenging wellness-related situations for students.

Region of Waterloo Public Health launches new self-assessment tool

The Input Health COVID-19 Population Health Navigator has been launched on the Region of Waterloo Public Health and Emergency Services website. The Navigator uses the same COVID self-assessment tool as the Ministry of Health and quickly links patients with their own primary care provider (if they have signed up to the service) or to another virtual primary care provider (e.g.

The Benefits of Connecting with Others: Belonging Matters

An individual’s wellbeing and sense of belonging are closely related. When we talk about belonging, it is often described as feeling like an important member of a group or community. Without this feeling of belonging, individuals can start to feel socially isolated or lonely, which affects overall wellbeing. Making a connection with others can be challenging, especially at a large institution.
