An official Memorandum of Understanding has been signed beween the Graduate School of Engineering (on behalf of Global Center of Excellence program: Center of Excellence for Advanced Structural and Functional Materials Design), Osaka University, Osaka, Japan and the Centre for Advanced Materials Joining (CAMJ), University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, for a joint research agreement on Advanced Materials Joining at Macro, Micro and Nano Levels. Centre for Advanced Materials Joining is organizing a workshop on “Simulation driven optimization of welded structures” at room E3-2119 (9.00 AM to 12.00 PM). Professor John Goldak (a distinguished research professor at Carleton University) is going to present various issues on welding simulations (finite element analysis).
