Copyright protects literary, artistic, dramatic and musical works, as well as sound recordings, performances and communication signals. These categories encompass a wide range of materials, from books, articles, posters, manuals, and graphs to CDs, DVDs, software, databases, and websites.

The Media Resources Library has a collection of audiovisual material available for streaming. Content available through this service is accessible to all members of the University community.

18. May I post examples of my students’ work on my course shell on a learning management system such as LEARN, or on my personal website?

You may post examples of student workk only if you have the student’s permission. Under Policy 73: Intellectual Property Rights, students own the copyright to the work they create. The University does have the right to make copies of the work for academic purposes, but this right does not extend to making the work available online.
