Amir Al-Azraki's play 'The Mug' is now featured as an audio play (with Arabic, English, French, and Spanish translations) as part of the "Today, Tomorrow" virtual exhibition. Like a two-way mirror, “Today, Tomorrow” invites Iraqi artists to reflect on personal and collective legacies while simultaneously providing a window into visions for the future.
About the Play: Inspired by a true story of an Arab artist living in Canada, The Mug tells the story of the agony, alienation, exploitation, nostalgia, desire and despair of an Iraqi artist who was tortured in prison during Saddam’s regime, and who lost two sons during the American invasion, to become later a refugee in Canada.
Additionally, there will be an in-person exhibition, open for public viewing from April 4-14, 2023 at the Minnesota Capitol's North Corridor.
