Daniel Qi, a graduate student who took JAPAN courses at Renison, recently received a prestigious scholarship funded by the Japanese Government. This scholarship is offered by The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (English acronym: MEXT) to Canadian students wishing to pursue their studies at a Japanese university.
Daniel will be pursuing his master's degree for civil engineering at The University of Tokyo, one of the most reputable universities in Japan, starting in April 2023. While he was taking the Japanese language courses at Renison, he participated in the Student Forum of the Japan Canada Academic Consortium, represented Renison in the Ontario Japanese Speech Contest, and also participated in the Kakehashi Project, a people-to-people exchange program offered by the Japanese Government. He is the first recipient of this distinguished scholarship at Renison.
Congratulations Daniel!
