Tour of the Waterloo Innovation Ecosystem | Meet in the Delta Waterloo lobby

Monday, June 20, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Recognized as one of the fastest growing startup ecosystems in the world, Waterloo Region is home to two universities and a thriving entrepreneurial community. This guided bus tour will visit both the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU) campuses, the Perimeter Institute, and the rapidly expanding Kitchener Innovation District. The tour includes a visit to Communitech, our Regional Innovation Centre, providing support for the Waterloo technology community; the University of Waterloo Velocity Garage, home base for approximately 100 UWaterloo student startups; and the Wilfrid Laurier Launchpad, a startup support program for WLU students and alumni. This will be a guided driving/walking tour (shuttle service provided). Indicate your attendance when registering for the conference.

Located next door to the Delta Waterloo, the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery opened in Waterloo in June 1993.

Join us for a casual welcome reception at the gallery where participants explore the exhibit, Tributaries - Midway 'twixt earth and heaven, while visiting colleagues and enjoying a drink and some appetizers.

After the welcome reception those interested are invited to make their way to the Huether Hotel, a historic hotel and pub located in the heart of uptown Waterloo since 1899, adjacent to one of the oldest breweries in Canada, The Lion Brewery, founded in 1842 by the Huether family.

CUPA Conference Dinner | Centre for International Governance Innovation

Tuesday, June 21, 6 p.m.

Located across the street from the Delta Waterloo, the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) is an independent, non-partisan think tank focused on international governance, affiliated with both Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Waterloo. This year's CUPA dinner will begin with a short video presentation about the history of CIGI and the Balsillie School of International Affairs, and tours of the award-winning facility including the courtyard and public art installations. Cocktails at 6 p.m., Dinner at 7 p.m.
