Fees for EFAS Winter 2022 and Spring 2022 terms
Registration Fees
A one-time $200 non-refundable application fee and a $300 tuition deposit is required for each term you wish to register. Returning students and students who are Canadian Permanent Residents or Citizens are only required to pay the tuition deposit for each term they wish to register.
Tuition Fees
Tuition fees listed are for full-time studies and include diagnostic testing and course instruction. These are subject to change, and are due two weeks before the start of classes. A $100 penalty applies for late fees. A $50 administrative fee applies if arrangements need to be made for a deferral of fees.

Additional Fees
- University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) - required for international students living in Canada
- $63 per month for single person
- UHIP coverage must be purchased regardless of medical coverage from your home country. Dependents (spouse and/or children) must also be enrolled in UHIP upon arrival in Canada for an additional cost.
- The Student Services Fee includes:
- University of Waterloo identification card (WatCard)
- Access to on-campus recreation facilities at the University of Waterloo (optional)
- On-campus social events and activities organized by Renison ELI Peer Leaders
- EFAS academic excursion (Fall, Winter and Spring terms only)
- Grand River Transit bus/transit pass
- Textbooks and workbooks (estimated cost of $150 per term)

Fees for Summer Intensive EFAS 2022 term (in Canadian Dollars)
- 6-week intensive EFAS full-time program (iEFAS)
- only high-intermediate (level 300, CEFR B2) and advanced (level 400, CEFR C1) courses offered
- offered on campus

Students who register for multiple terms of EFAS in 1 online application will only pay 1 application fee. This is a savings of $200 to $600!
Not included: travel costs between your home and Canada, transportation between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Renison University College, and accommodation. Please email eli@uwaterloo.ca if you require assistance.
