On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, the Faculty of Environment held the 2023 ENV Moon Festival (Mid-Autumn Festival) in the courtyard of EV1. The Deans, professors and supporting staff within the faculty and related university units attended this event, warmly welcoming and sending their good wishes to our students. Many of the students and some staff shared their performances in the celebration, bringing the atmosphere to a crescendo.
The Faculty of Environment had the first intake of 2+2 students from China in 2008. The 2+2 program has grown significantly, with seven Chinese universities participating in the joint academic programs (2+2, 3+2, 1+2+1). Till now, we have about 600 students graduated from these programs. Over 50% of them moved to graduate programs in different universities within Canada and worldwide, including the University of Waterloo, University of Toronto, Harvard University, Yale University, University College London, etc.
It has been our tradition to host a formal welcome reception for our 2+2 program students on the occasion of the Moon Festival. It provides a great platform for students to communicate with the professors/supporting staff to get to know each other and get familiar with their new environment in Canada.
