In response to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, on April 6, 2022, the province announced the creation of a $1.9 million Ontario-Ukraine Solidarity Scholarship to support students attending Ontario’s publicly assisted colleges and universities. The purpose of these funds is to provide support to students directly or indirectly impacted by the Ukrainian conflict or students impacted by other conflicts.
Number and amount available
The University of Waterloo has received four (4) scholarships to award in the 2022-2023 academic year. The value of each scholarship is $10,000.
Eligibility and selection criteria
Application deadline: January 16, 2023
The selection committee will begin reviewing applications after the January 16 deadline and applicants will be notified of a decision within one month.
