Wendy Wilson, (B.A, Windsor, M.A. Western) was a professor and Coordinator of Technology Programs in the School of Language and Liberal Studies at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, for many years. She retired in June and has returned to the college as the MOOC Coordinator. During her years at Fanshawe she wrote and edited nine textbooks, including Working Words and Power Tools for Technical Communication for Nelson Canada. In May 2013 she designed and ran Applied Sustainability, the first Canadian community college MOOC. She subsequently received the Desire2Excel Innovation award from Desire2Learn, along with fellow-presenter Ryan Walmsley for gamifying the MOOC.
