Current Research

Trans communities face a crisis in the global rise of anti-trans policy, legislation, and misinformation, driven by anti-trans animus, and fueled and leveraged by those who would empower autocracy. The Eddie Goldenberg Research Chair of Canada in Gender-Based Violence and Trans Community aims to address this crisis through the creation and dissemination of evidence-based intervention resources developed in collaboration with community partners.

More specifically, there is currently a lack of fine-tuned attention to and theorization of the relational dynamics that confront trans people daily – the underlying structure which facilitates gender-based violence and anti-trans animus. The Chair aims to fill this gap, and to thereby provide resources for trans people to navigate interpersonal relations and to curb misinformation and anti-trans sentiment globally.
