Linking Multiple Stressors to Adverse Ecological Responses Across Watersheds

Principal Investigator: Mark Servos

The project will develop models and tools that will improve our understanding of the impacts of urbanization on watersheds, especially in the context of rapid change - both natural and human-induced. Models will allow scientists to simulate the effects of major stressors so that water resource managers can identify areas of risk, therefore (deletion here) informing what remedial or preventative measures could be taken to avoid potential damage. Results will also inform how we can improve monitoring programs to best help decision-makers prepare for and adapt to future changes in land use and climate.

Bottom Line

Provide tools that support resource managers in making informed decisions that consider the risks of different options.
