GSEF Application Deadline Extended!

The deadline to apply for Fall 2016 is Friday, November 4th, 2016 at noon.

GSEF’s mandate is to improve the experience of graduate students on campus, and to provide funding where possible to help aid in the production of a vibrant student experience.

The project budget for GSEF is $10,000 a term. If the whole amount is not used up, the surplus can roll over to future terms so applications for large projects will not be refused outright.

GSA Department Council Elections and Nominations

The Graduate Student Association is holding elections to fill vacancies. Each department is entitled to elect a graduate student representative to the GSA Council – the recognized voice of graduate students at the University of Waterloo. The GSA Council is a forum for discussing and making decisions on academic and social/political issues relating to graduate study at UW.

Ontario Budget 2016 – Ontario Student Grant

Graduate students across Ontario are pleased after the government announced funding changes for students. The new Ontario Student Grant will provide up-front, non-repayable grants to students including those in graduate programs. Students from families with incomes of $50,000 or less will have free tuition and the cost of a college or university education will be more affordable for middle-class families.
