2020 Faculty-based heats

The Faculty-based heats will take place February 3-March 13, 2020.  Winners of the heats move forward to represent their faculties in the 3MT University-wide final.  If you are a competitor, review the slide submission requirements page.

Competitors are encouraged to attend all faculty-based heats. Please check the slide submission deadlines for your faculty-based heat.

2020 University-wide final

The live event has been cancelled due to COVID-19, and the 2020 university-wide final will take place virtually.

3MT University of Waterloo finals are hosted by Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs.

  • This year's virtual competition will launch at the end of June 2020.
  • Participate in the People's Choice award vote! Stay tuned for more details.
  • Judges will deliberate virtually, and winners will be announced in July.

2020 Province-wide competition
