#Purple4Prevention is back again!
Launched for #16DaysUW as an ongoing partnership with the Sexual Assault Support Center and Conestoga Colleges' and Wilfrid Laurier University’s SVPR Offices, #Purple4Prevention invites the UW campus community to stand in solidarity with survivors of gender-based violence.
On January 27 and 28 wear your #Purple4Prevention tee-shirt (or any other purple). Then take a selfie, post it and tag @uwaterloohrei and #ConsentWeek with your tips about how we can all play a role in creating safer campuses and communities.
By wearing purple, we’ll show each other just how many people in our communities are working together to end gendered violence – often it feels so isolating and solitary for survivors, supporters and advocates. Wearing these shirts and sharing messages online also creates opportunities for discussion and learning about the role we all play in creating a consent culture.
