Medieval Lecture Series: Dr. Steven Bednarski

Help us kick off this year's Medieval Studies Lecture Series by celebrating the launch of Dr. Steven Bednarski’s latest book, A Poisoned Past (UTP 2014). Come and enjoy a glass of wine, a pastry, and hear the sad tale of one historian’s quest to find a long dead poisoner hidden in his archives.

The launch will be held Thursday October 23 at 4:30pm in the UW Bookstore.

Medieval Lecture Series: Dr. Richard Greenfield

The Medieval Studies Department is proud to present a lecture by Dr. Richard Greenfield from Queen's University. The lecture, which is open to the public, is titled Maxing the Sanctity: Asceticism, Miracle, and Authorial Enhancement in the Late Byzantine Lives of Maximos "the Hutburner" and features work from his forthcoming Dumbarton Oaks volume, The Holy Men of Mount Athos. The reception will begin at 4:30pm on February 5 at St. Jerome's University in room 3027 with the lecture to follow. Vernissage for Dr. Norm Klassen's New Book

The University of Waterloo Department of Medieval Studies is proud to present a book launch and lecture featuring Norm Klassen from St. Jerome's University. We are celebrating the launch of his book, The Fellowship of the Beatific Vision: Chaucer on Overcoming Tyranny and Becoming Ourselves. Following the reception, Dr. Klassen will give a lecture on the topic.
