In partnership with the Network for Aging Research and GRADventure, the Symposium on Aging Research will be hosting a speed networking event for UW faculty and students to have an opportunity to meet others with diverse perspectives in aging research. Through a series of accelerated and structured contacts, you will have the opportunity to speak with professors from up to 10 different faculties, who are interested in aging research.
- Networking for Graduate Students Workshop – Centre for Career Action’s graduate career advisors will provide a 30-minute workshop for graduate student participants to learn about the importance of networking in both academic and non-academic contexts and to gain tips on how to network effectively.
- Speed Networking – Students will have an opportunity to speed network with faculty members. We will have a low ratio of students per faculty member to allow for personalized conversations; students will rotate to network with new faculty members throughout the session.
- Open Networking – An open networking session will be held at the end of the event for faculty members and students to connect in more depth.
- Professional Head Shots – A professional photographer will be on site to provide free professional head shots to participating graduate students.
