Waterloo Aging Network for Trainees (WANT)

For many years, UW students with an interest in aging have had an annual opportunity to meet and share their research at the Symposium on Aging Research (SoAR). While SoAR has been a very successful format, UW did not have a mechanism for ongoing networking and communication among students focused on aging.

Thus, the Waterloo Aging Network for Trainees (WANT) was created. WANT is a student-led network, initiated by Tara Kuhn and Karen El Hajj to provide a mechanism to connect students and post-doctoral fellows across faculties at the University of Waterloo with interests in aging research and innovation. This network would be open to all University of Waterloo undergraduates, graduates, and post-doctoral fellows.

WANT could provide an opportunity to network and share ideas across disciplines in an environment where students can discuss all aspects of aging research and innovation. This would include current and future challenges and opportunities, while providing inter-disciplinary perspectives.

The WANT is lead by Tara Kuhn, Karen El Hajj, and Emma Conway. WANT currently meets on the last Tuesday of every month at 3p.m. For more information or to join our mailing list, please send us an email
