If you're a grad student engaged in aging research and are looking to improve your academic presentation skills, register to attend Designing an Engaging Presentation from the Writing & Communication Centre, supported by UW's Network for Aging Research (NAR). This workshop will give you concrete tips and strategies to plan an engaging, memorable, and clear presentation, with slides that support your spoken presentation.
We want you to feel confident when you’re presenting, so this workshop will guide you as you think about your audience, plan specific messages for your presentation, and experiment with different structures to best convey the information to your audience. When it comes to making effective slides, we want you to make informed decisions about visuals so that your audience can remember your ideas.
You'll leave the workshop with an outline of your presentation & useful strategies for creating your slides, so come prepared to think about your presentation & talk to your peers about your ideas.
All graduate students are welcome to attend, though the material presented will be targeted at those with an interest in aging research. This workshop is especially helpful if you’re presenting at the upcoming SoAR conference — get a head start on your presentation by joining us on April 9th!
