Memory and Cognitive Neuroscience Lab

Faculty of Arts

Myra Fernandes, PhD

Our research investigates the cognitive and neural factors that influence our ability to encode and remember the past.

We aim to gain an understanding of the processes and brain mechanisms mediating performance by investigating how memory changes as we age, examining individual differences in memory abilities, and determining factors that can help or hinder memory.

Our research includes behavioural testing, fMRI, and neuropsychological studies.

If you would like to find out more about participating in studies on aging, visit the Waterloo Research in Aging Participant (WRAP) Pool website.

View our video clip 'Memory in Aging' (YouTube) for highlights of some of our research, featured recently on television’s CTV-ProvinceWide.
