The University of Waterloo is hosting a paper airplane toss on Saturday, and members of the media are invited to attend this photo opportunity.
It's part of the 15th annual Fantastic Alumni, Faculty and Staff Day, taking place at the Physical Activities Complex on campus on Saturday, February 8. The annual event this year features the Warriors men's and women's basketball teams playing teams from Western University.
The airplane toss will happen during halftime of the men's game. Members of the public will be able to purchase the paper airplanes for two dollars each, with all proceeds going to the YMCA-YWCA Strong Kids Campaign. They launch their planes at prizes on and around the court. The plane that lands closest to a prize wins it. Prizes include an LED television, a speaker system, a shopping spree worth $500, and more.
The women’s game begins at noon, followed by the men's game at 2 p.m., with halftime expected at approximately 2:40 p.m.
