Identify an important problem for which an invention should be created and submit your application by February 3. If you can persuade a panel of judges that you have identified an important problem for which an invention should be created, and that you thoroughly understand the problem, you can win a financial award to help you and your team create a solution to the problem.
First place winners receive $3000, with an additional $3000 for demonstrated progress. Second place winners receive $2000, with an additional $2000 for demonstrated progress. A funding pool of $10,000 is available.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River.
