Purpose
The Vice-President, Academic and Provost is the chief academic and budget officer of the University responsible for the day-to-day operations of the University. Working closely with the President, the Provost leads and supports the efforts of the Deans, faculty, and staff in support of academic excellence.
Under the direction of the Provost, Deans’ Council serves as the Provost’s principal forum with the Deans for providing strategic counsel and enabling institution-wide coherence on matters of academic, financial, and operational significance.
Responsibilities
- Provide a forum for the Provost and Deans to align institutional priorities and emerging issues.
- Provide advice on major academic, financial, and strategic initiatives prior to decision.
- Contribute to institutional budget planning, including consideration of Faculty-level implications and strategies.
- Enable coordinated approaches across faculties on cross-institutional matters.
- Identify and advance priority initiatives requiring collective leadership attention.
