As the Interim Vice-President, Academic and Provost, Dr. Thomas Duever works closely with the President and Vice-Chancellor, the Deans, and the executive team he has appointed to operationalize the University’s strategic plan.

In his multifaceted role as Chief Academic Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Budget Officer, and Senior Vice-President of the University of Waterloo, Provost Duever oversees a broad portfolio that is instrumental in strengthening Waterloo's reputation as a world-class institution. Under Provost Duever’s direction, his leadership team manages initiatives within this large scope of responsibility and ensures the University remains focused on delivering its academic mission.

From championing faculty-led interdisciplinary projects; to integrating leading-edge technologies across teaching and learning, research, and campus infrastructure; to implementing transformative changes that foster equity, inclusion, and accessibility, Provost Duever and his leadership team are creating a resilient, vibrant University of Waterloo.
