Prusa i3 MK3S+ and MINI+ Materials
Printing cost for the Prusa printers is based on the total mass of material used, including supports. The cost per gram is shown below.
- PLA $0.06 per gram
- Very strong filament, capable of higher resolution, easy to print with
- Brittle, not very resistant to high heat or elements
- PETG $0.07 per gram
- Comparable strength to PLA, higher heat, UV an chemical resistance, generally more durable, can be sterilized/food safe
- Resolution isn't as good as PLA, can have minor print bed adhesion issues
- TPU (FLEX) $0.08 per gram
- Flexable, shock and impact absorbant, fairly high resolution capabilities
- Can be difficult to work with (stringy, presets too hot/cold), difficult to sand/post process, bed adhesion is too strong if put directly on smooth PEI sheet
Bambu Labs X1 Carbon Materials:
Our Bambu Labs printers and print with an even broader range of materials than our Prusa printers. Below are the materials we are currently offering with these printers
- Multicoloured PLA Printing $5 flat fee plus $0.06 per gram
- Print in up to 4 different colours of PLA at once from our selection to create multicoloured prints with a uniform finish.
- Longer printing time and more filament usage than a single colour print.
- Carbon Fiber PAHT-CF $0.13 per gram
- Need a material with tougher mechanical properties than our typical 3D printer filaments? Our new carbon fiber reinforced nylon filament might be the material for you.
- Find more information on this material on our Bambu Labs FDM Printing page
- Dedicated Support Material (Support for PLA / PVA Water-Soluble Support) $0.10 per gram plus cost of print filament used
- Now with water soluble support material you can create more complex geometry previously not possible with break away supports.
- Compatible with PLA and PETG prints, not recommended for use as full print body material.
