The inherent nature of engineering design and development of a new system is driven by innovation. Optimizing the performance of any engineering system responsibly and ethically is crucial to the innovative nature of the field. The experience also gave me an opportunity to collaborate with experts from a mwide variety of fields. My key contribution of the work revolved around development of a workshop that is aimed at anyone who is actively involved in the development and deployment of data driven technologies, with a strong emphasis on ethics. The work was conducted in collaboration with Open Roboethics Institute (ORI). 

Vice President - Communication, Mechanical and Mechatronics Graduate Student Association (MMEGA), University of Waterloo

As a graduate student at the University of Waterloo, I determined that it was critical to not just excel in academics as an individual but as a community. As VP of communication for MMEGA, I served as a key member to expand the reach of the association through posters, website, events on social media etc. I was also crucial to maintaining transparency of MMEGA by posting the meeting minutes on the website and developing a platform where students could file in their inquiries/complaints (if any).

I have been involved in several social service activities which range from organizing charity plays to raise money for great causes, organize and participate in weekend tutoring classes to teach underprivileged children, organize visits for students to several local orphanages and collect charity for the same amongst many others.

My team and I try to promote ideas of innovation and the importance of designing efficient solutions to problems by organizing talks and workshops. Ideas presented here have a chance of securing funding if deemed fit by relevant authorities. We are responsible for providing the right platform for expression of innovative ideas.

At DDFC, I was responsible for organizing many cultural activities. Understanding the need to unwind, the events organized were the perfect mix of glamour and fun.
