Science 2+2 program application procedure

Below is the application procedure to get into Science 2+2 programs.

  • Successfully complete the University of Waterloo's English Language Exam offered through Renison University College (the Renison English exam in 2023 for 2024 entrance is online).
  • Complete the online Ontario University Application Centre (OUAC) Application for Admission (for detailed instructions, please go to OUAC application instruction) between Oct 30, 2023 and March 1, 2024. Please do NOT use any qq.com e-mail addresses. Upon completion of the application, please print out a copy of your completed application form.
  • After you complete the OUAC online application, it may take up to 10 business days for Waterloo to receive your application. Once we receive the information from OUAC, we will send to you an acknowledgement email (Subject line: "Thank you for applying to Waterloo" which contains your Waterloo student number (an 8-digit number)).
  • Read the webpage (https://uwaterloo.ca/future-students/external/joint-program-applicants) for how to get a UW Quest account, how to submit documents, and how to check application status.
  • Submit the required application documents (see the list in the lower-half of the page).
    • Upload the required application documents on Quest no later than March 15, 2024 for initial admission decision making at UW. Read the instruction on "How to submit documents on Quest".
    • Admission decision information will be sent to you via email in March 2024.
    • Once you have received an offer of admission, your official university transcript must be mailed directly from your home institute to UW. The due date for the official transcript to arrive at Waterloo can be found in the offer letter from UW.

Important reminder: After you receive the acknowledgement email from us, please include your student number (8 digit number) and full name in all correspondence with the University of Waterloo.

Required application documents

  • A copy of your university transcript (see instructions on "How to submit documents on Quest"). If your 2nd-year grades are not available by the deadline, please submit them as soon as possible. If your current transcript does NOT indicate the courses that you are currently enrolled in, you will need to include a letter - preferably from your advisor - outlining the details of those courses.
  • A copy of your CET4/CET6/TOEFL/IELTS scores if you have taken the test(s). If you did not write the University of Waterloo's English language Exam, you need to send us your results from one of our accepted English language tests (such as TOEFL and IELTS tests). Please note that these test scores can be used to help make an admission decision but are not a replacement for the 6-week iEFAS program. The 6-week iEFAS program is for the students who have already been admitted into the 2+2 program to improve their English and to learn more about Canadian culture and life to transit to their study at UW.
  • A copy of your completed OUAC application with your institution’s nomination signature.

Important reminder: The official transcripts and certified translation must be mailed or given directly to a University of Waterloo representative from your home university in a stamped and sealed envelope.

The official transcripts in sealed envelopes must be mailed to:
