This page demonstrates how the Bioinformatics Options can be seamlessly integrated within the Honours Co-op Science and Business program sequence. The sample pathway illustrates one possible approach to combining disciplinary depth in biology with the interdisciplinary business foundation of the program.
Careful academic planning is important, as Biology courses and CS courses often include prerequisites that must be completed in advance. Students are encouraged to connect with a Science and Business advisor early to map out course selections and ensure requirements align with their degree progression and co-op schedule. Students interested in pursuing the minor should plan to declare the Bioinformatics Option by their 2A term to allow sufficient time for course sequencing and prerequisite completion.

Notes
- Math Elective can be any course taught in the Faculty of Math (not including CS 100, MATH 103, MATH 104, MTHEL subject)
- Examples: Math 106, Math 114, Stat 202, CS 105, CS 115 (can be across ACTSC, AMATH, CO,CS, MATH, PMATH, STAT)
- BIOL labs are recommended but not required unless needed to satisfy upper-year courses as prerequisites.
- The represented sequencing of all elective types is suggestive only and can be taken in a different order, and different term, than what is shown, depending on the elective chosen, its term of offering and required requisites.
