Biography
Dr. Andrea Edginton is a Professor and the Hallman Director of the School of Pharmacy at the University of Waterloo. She is an accomplished researcher, academic leader, and entrepreneur with expertise in pharmacokinetics, physiologically based pharmacokinetic modelling, drug development, and model-informed approaches to improve medication use across diverse patient populations.
Dr. Edginton joined the University of Waterloo in 2008 and has contributed extensively to the growth and development of its School of Pharmacy, including its nationally distinctive co-operative education model, strong experiential learning network, and expanding partnerships with healthcare, government, and industry. As Director, she leads the School’s academic, research, financial, and strategic activities and advocates for the role of pharmacists in strengthening community-based healthcare. Additionally, she served for six years as Chair of the University of Waterloo’s Clinical Research Ethics Board, providing leadership in the ethical review and oversight of clinical research involving human participants.
Beyond the University, Dr. Edginton is a co-founder and COO of MAPflow Inc., a Canadian clinical decision-support platform used by community pharmacists, and is Vice-President of Design2Code Inc., a software development and consulting company. She has served for six years on the Board of Directors of the Ontario College of Pharmacists, contributing to professional regulation, governance, and public protection.
