Biography

Dan Weber is a technology executive and public policy expert with a deep commitment to the Waterloo innovation ecosystem. He currently serves as Head of Public Affairs at BorderPass, an AI-native legal-tech platform focused on compliance, accuracy and cost-efficiency in immigration processes. Other board roles include the Board of Directors of Intellectual Property Ontario (IPON) and the Dean's Advisory Board for the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen's University.

Appointed to the Board of Governors by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, Dan brings extensive experience in international education and government relations to the university’s board. He previously served as Senior Advisor, Public Affairs at the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) and held senior leadership roles at ApplyBoard, a unicorn edtech firm where he focused on government relations, global innovation and strategy.

A dedicated alumnus, he holds a Bachelor of Mathematics (BMath) from the University of Waterloo and has previously served on the Board of Governors for St. Jerome’s University.

Dan serves as a member of the UW Board Executive Committee and Audit and Risk Committee.
