Why run?
Presidents and directors help shape the future of the UWSA and ensure staff have a voice in decisions that affect their work and workplace.
- The president leads the association's day-to-day work, advances advocacy priorities, and works closely with staff, members, and university leaders.
- Directors provide strategic, financial, and governance oversight, helping guide the UWSA's long-term direction and sustainability.
In either role, you can:

- build leadership, governance, and advocacy skills
- expand your network across the university
- contribute to university-level committees
- help create a better workplace for staff
Serving with the UWSA is a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact. You'll gain firsthand experience in leadership, governance, and decision making while working with colleagues from across the university, including senior leaders.
