The Staff Excellence Fund (SEF) is being reviewed as part of the 2026 memorandum of settlement between the University of Waterloo and the Staff Association. The review aims to improve the fund's clarity, transparency, awareness, effectiveness, and long-term sustainability. It will also consider potential changes to governance, guidelines, processes, program structure, and the possibility of adding a professional development funding stream.
As part of this review, the Staff Association is seeking input from staff to shape recommendations through a short survey.
Whether you're very familiar with the Staff Excellence Fund or have never heard of it before, your perspective is valuable. We want to better understand staff awareness of the fund, experiences with SEF-supported programs, barriers to participation, and opportunities for improvement.
This survey is open to all University of Waterloo staff employees and is open through July 22.
