Status Update: MoA & 2026 Salary Increases

We want to provide a brief update on the status of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) revisions, and the timing of this year’s salary increases.

We are very close to reaching a tentative Memorandum of Agreement, with a few remaining details to be resolved. These final discussions are important to ensure the strongest outcomes for staff, even if they require slightly more time than originally anticipated. Once the MoA is ratified, we will begin compensation negotiations to determine 2026 staff salary increases. 

Our goal remains to announce staff salary increases by May 1, with increases effective as of May 1. However, it may not be possible to process the increases in time for the May pay cycle.

We recognize that this timing matters to staff, and we sincerely apologize for the uncertainty this may introduce despite everyone’s best efforts to avoid it. We can assure you that:

  • The UWSA and UW continue to work in good faith to finalize the MoA and subsequently reach a compensation settlement as soon as possible, without compromising meaningful results for staff.

  • No one will lose out on any pay as a result of this timing—increases will be applied retroactively to May 1, even if they’re processed later.
