A representative on the Copyright Advisory Committee is needed for a one-year term starting July 1.

The Copyright Advisory Committee is the primary forum for collaborative decision-making regarding copyright and its applications on campus. The committee will work to keep campus administration, faculty, staff, and students informed about the current and ongoing status of copyright and licensing related issues, projects, and developments.

The UWSA representative serves on the Steering Committee, which advises on policy, budget, and strategic initiatives and directs the work of the Copyright Working Group. Please see the Copyright Advisory Committee terms of reference for more information.

This is a one-year term that may be renewed at the discretion of the UWSA president.

Participation rights and recognition

Members have the right to participate in UWSA business under the Memorandum of Agreement between the UWSA and the University of Waterloo, as long as participation does not unreasonably interfere with a member’s duties to the University.

Upon request, committee members will receive a letter from the UWSA president and/or relevant committee chair outlining contributions to the role and its value to the Association, for use in performance appraisal.
