The Government of Ontario provides bursary assistance for Indigenous students with financial need, as assessed by the educational institution. The bursary is open to eligible undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at the University of Waterloo in full- or part-time studies in any degree program in any year of study. To be eligible for the Indigenous Student Bursary, a student must self-identify as an Indigenous person in Canada. For the purpose of this bursary, an Indigenous person in Canada is anyone who reported being an Aboriginal person, that is, First Nations, Métis or Inuk (Inuit). In addition, candidates must meet the citizenship and Ontario residency requirements as outlined on the OSAP Application for Full-Time Students. Note: you do not have to apply for OSAP to be considered for this bursary. Interested students must complete the University of Waterloo Bursary application.
