What do we offer?
The ASI offers introductory level intensive Arabic language courses. These courses are designed for students wishing to develop proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing within an intensive and condensed course format. This intensive approach allows students to make quick progress equivalent to one term of regular language instruction every 4 weeks. This type of format may be particularly helpful for those students who are
- preparing for graduate language proficiency exams,
- preparing to work or study abroad,
- entering an internship,
- considering further post-secondary education or graduate school,
- or working to enhance their career opportunities.
The ASI also offers an accelerated Arab Culture course. This course is designed to give students an introduction to modern Arabic culture and society. This course provides students with an opportunity to enhance their cultural knowledge and provides a cultural and social context for students learning the Arabic language.
Courses are taught by Studies in Islam faculty member Amir Al-Azraki. Our students will enjoy a welcoming classroom setting and a rigorous course schedule consisting of formal classes, enrichment activities, and conversation circles.
